Board of Trustees

The legal basis for our school is the thurinigia international school-weimar e.V., which is a non-profit organization with seven members. Their representatives meet as a group annually to elect and oversee the Board of Directors, which is responsible for the business of the registered association.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is responsible for the following:

• to ensure that the organisation (the school) achieves its mission and sustains its long term viability as an entity
• to hire, evaluate and support the Director
• to develop and approve policies and procedures
• to oversee and approve the school's annual budget

The Board Chair is Mr Herbert Stütz. He was assigned to found an international school in Thuringia in 1999 and has been working for the development of our institution ever since. He is Director for investment promotion at LEG Thüringen mbH and, apart from ThIS, is also involved in many other organisations which promote internationality and global-mindedness in Thuringia. His Deputy is Mr Gero Niemann, Board Chair of CURATYS International, a recruitment agency.
